(NSE:KEC) has announced that it has received a communication from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited regarding a temporary restriction from participating in future tenders. This development comes alongside the company securing new orders across multiple business segments amounting to ₹1,016 crore on previous day (17 Nov 2025), reinforcing its active presence in domestic and international markets.
PGCIL Issues Nine-Month Tender Restriction
KEC International has confirmed the receipt of a letter dated 18 November 2025 from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), informing the company of its exclusion from bidding for tenders and receiving new contract awards from PGCIL for a period of nine months. The letter states that the restriction relates to an earlier contractual matter previously disclosed on 24 March 2025. The communication also notes that all ongoing PGCIL projects currently under execution by KEC International will continue without interruption.
The company has stated that it is reviewing all available options, including the possibility of seeking legal remedies or approaching PGCIL for reconsideration of the decision. It reiterated its commitment to compliance, governance, and ethical conduct across its operations, affirming that it follows the standards required under applicable laws and regulations.
Company Assesses Impact and Confirms Operational Continuity
According to KEC International, the communication from PGCIL is not expected to materially impact the company's financial or operational position. The company indicated that its order book and active tender pipeline continue to provide business visibility across its diversified operational segments. With presence across more than 110 countries, KEC International continues to engage in Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects spanning power transmission, civil infrastructure, transportation, renewables, and cables.

On 17 November, prior to the PGCIL update, KEC International announced new orders worth ₹1,016 crore across several business verticals.
Civil Segment Expands Portfolio
The civil business has secured new contracts within the Buildings & Factories segment from existing clientele. These include a luxury villa development project in Western India awarded by a notable real estate developer and an upstream facility project in Eastern India from a leading steel producer.
Entry into Middle East for Oil & Gas Pipelines
The oil and gas pipelines division has achieved a milestone by securing its first order in the Middle East, marking a broader international footprint in this segment.
Transmission & Distribution Secures Global Orders
Fresh and extension orders in the Transmission & Distribution segment include the supply of towers, poles, and hardware in the Middle East and the Americas, as well as a 400 kV transmission line project in the UAE.
Cables & Conductors Add New Contracts
The cables and conductors division has also received orders for a range of products to be supplied within India and to overseas markets.
